Apple Will Call It iSlate: Latest Proof

Thanks to the United States Trademark and Patent Office’s links page, I did a wee tour of the globe hunting down the three known Apple seekrit trademarks: iSlate, iPad, and Magic Slate.

Put your money on iSlate for the iTablet.

With Magic Slate possibly being a different product altogether.

iPad isn’t even in the running due to trademark conflicts around the world.

1) The iSlate trademark seems to have been filed first in Trinidad and Tobago, as this is cited in numerous other filings.

2) The worldwide reach of the filings indicates to me a corporation of global reach.

3) All are registered to the beard company, Slate Computing (USA) LLC.

4) All filings took place during a narrow time period in November 2006 — the 21st through the 23rd (allow wiggle room for the International Dateline). It was a filing blitz!

Weirdly, none of the three trademarks show up in Germany. Perhaps the European Union filing takes care of that?
