If you haven’t seen this (exceptions made at the time of posting this for people on the West Coast, where it has yet to air), you have really missed something.

It will probably be available tomorrow at the CBS 60 Minutes site. Watch it!

He owns a movie studio.

He. Himself. One writer.

He finances his own movies.

He. Himself. One writer.

An incredible, inspiring story for all writers.

While there are embarrassments currently scurrying about trying to vacuum up every possible nickel, this guy is busy creating, confident that the money will come to him.

That is one hallmark that separates the amateur from the professional.

Which are you?

The Secret Weapon Of Barnes & Noble

October 25, 2009

There has been plenty of coverage about the Barnes & Noble Nook eBook reader.

All of it has overlooked something that’s very important.

Barnes & Noble is also a publisher.

And I don’t mean some cheap little public domain reprint POD house (such as, say, Google).

These guys have a true appreciation for books and writers.

Most people don’t know this.

But I do and here’s what most people don’t know…

We kick off with some news I tripped over on Twitter:

iSilo is just about ancient software. People used it back in the days of the original Palm Pilot. I think many people will be surprised to find that it’s still being used — and has been ported to Android. Talk about staying power!

Myself, I could never get into using it. I can’t recall why now. Perhaps it’s worth another shot when/if I get an Android OS device. If you are using iSilo, leave a Comment with the hows and whys.

Next up, I hypnotized Judie Lipsett of Gear Diary to do my evil bidding and fondle an Archos 5 Internet Tablet while she was at B&H Photo helping to pimp Windows 7. She sent me some photos:
