I can’t help but note that 5/5 are men. Even so, while it saddens me to know they were crushed in their lifetimes, it helps put my own artistic, social, and financial struggles in perspective. And that’s … a good thing.
Hmmm… I never considered they were all men. Now, to my shame, I must admit I’ve only read the bio of one woman writer: the drug-addicted self-alienated sociopathic Ayn Rand. I should read at least Alcott’s bio, for crying out loud.
